I have been working a long time on this one. You probably don't recognise her but the smaller figure in this render is my gnome fury (Everquest 2) named Daeya. The other is just a random human character I added so it is obvious that Daeya is small. I have another render of Daeya in my gallery and she does look different there, but I found out that I don't like how that other Daeya looks from other angles, so i went with a whole new version of her.
I started of in poser with this, as usual. Set up the characters with clothes hair, textures, poses, etc. Prepared all props I was going to need. Then went into Vue and started to build the scene, with many lovely props by DM productions. Added the characters, then started the very boring and long task of editing the textures to look better in Vue. Eventualy started the fun task of adding many many point lights to make the flames all give light. I'm pretty happy with how the lighting turned out really. I did a little postwork to clean up a few things and add a tiny bit of magic on Daeya her staff, and that's it.
Thank you for taking a look! And as usual I welcome any constructive critique on how to improve.
*bows* you are truly awesome at this. So much detail and meticulous approach to your scene make it look really breathtaking. And your characters are always beautiful. I know you put advanced critique there but... oh man I can't say that anything is wrong with this! >< haha! Daeya is so cute and looks like an interesting character. I love the lighting you put in there. I don't know much about rendering so probably a pro render artist could tell you if there's anything wrong. For my trained eye lol things look gorgeous. Gods I wish you could render Thilly *sniff* yeah I know it's a lot lot of work and toil but *beams* I could really really paint something special in return. I know you probably don't do such things.
Well, yes, it did take long to render, so after most of the lights where set up I had to let it render over night and then see in the morning what I still needed change. It did take a few weeks to get this one finished. Thank you for your comment.
I struggle when I have something that takes an hour to render and I have to go back and change something. lol. I guess I'm going to have to learn a lot more patience before I start using a lot of light sources.

Well, when you are able to leave your pc on during the night it does help, because then you just don't have to wait for the render to be done. In the mornign when you wake up it simply is finished.
